Butterfly Birthday

This was a fun one to work on! Running joke between Mom and Daughter because the Daughter would always buy Mom something with a butterfly for her Birthday every year - so for the Daughter's 30th, Mom turned the theme on her! :) Chocolate sheet cake with vanilla buttercream icing decorated to match napkins for the party. Butterfly wings were made using gelatin - another new process for me! Fun to do and very pleased with the look! Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing swirls topped with a gum paste/fondant butterfly and a sprinkle of white nonpareils - absolutely loved the look of the cupcakes! :)

Hunter's Birthday

This was a hunter's themed Birthday all the way! First off, the main Birthday cake: a yellow vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling, covered in blaze orange fondant and edged with green fondant grass. Then topped off with a deer, hand formed using rice krispie treats and fondant, which was then painted using gel coloring and lemon flavoring. One dozen chocolate truffle cupcakes topped with a swirl of hunter green vanilla buttercream icing and hand formed fondant shotgun shells! Second dozen cupcakes was chocolate chip, topped with a swirl of hunter green vanilla buttercream icing and hand formed fondant blaze orange hunter caps!

Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake

Had fun doing this all buttercream cake! Yellow vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream icing. I loved the way the pink, white and black looked together - especially on the trim around the bottom! :)

Sleeping Bag/Sleepover Birthday Cake

This was a fun request! Birthday girl was having a sleepover for her Birthday, so Mom and Dad wanted a cake fashioned after a sleeping bag! Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream icing and some fondant cutouts for details.
